## administrivia
- I heard we were buying new furtiture
- michaelzls: what was opposition to couch?
- don't want people to lay down
- can discourage during lab hours
- will put up a sign saying disallowed
- elenah: better usage of space
- vqbc: compromise:
- loveseat + keep two green chairs
- small enough to discourage people from sleeping
- still more comfortable
- having a couch encourages staff to be there :D
- equivalent space usage to green chairs
- msonmez: set aside budget?
- vqbc: proposed draft in #administrivia
- finwan: quote?
- $1400; includes:
- couch
- long rectangular coffee table; 2x4 ft
- 16in tall
- end table; 2x2 ft
- new table next to opstaff desk; can put water heater, snacks, etc.
- just above height of current opstaff desk
- thoughts?
- michaelzls:
- where do we put replaced green chairs?
- concerned about compactness; wide
- vqbc: can put at wooden tables
- generally, positive response
- cleanliness?
- vqbc:
- couch will be more heavily used; however, loveseat is smaller, so less difference from normal seat
- found one with polyurethane covers, so easy to remove and wash
- elenah: replace supply table?
- vqbc: will look into; will make sure to measure such that doesn't hit server room door
- michaelzls: choose non-porous material to prevent liquids soaking
- vqbc: after further research:
- adils desk; $80
- potentially not sturdy
- most economical
- inch shorter, less tripping
- msonmez: give us a couple potential options
- vqbc: can buy by next BoD
- sbwilliams: can defer supply table to next BoD, so we can confirm it will be of correct size
- could vote on other things in $1400 now; however, shipping will be cheaper if we get all at once, so defer all to next BoD
- water heater???
- essentially come to concensus
## operations
- stapler crisis pt 2
- elenah: staplers are fine, it's a user issue
- rschuetz: how much to put stapler module in printers?
- michaelzls: more jamming issues
- lukepeters: automatic staplers?
- elenah: issues of saftey
- michaelzls: add plastic guard around blade parts
- we had some somewhere; will look in storage room
- lukepeters: will look into
- joiew: on opstaff shift, how often do staplers jam?
- elenah: about once a shift, but so much easier to unjam
## internal
- hey buddy wheres my tech talk
- sent out message just now
- will be on typical wednesday, most likely
- hack day?
- rschuetz: did not work last time
- potentially because of bart anime thing?
- regardless, need people to commit to teaching new staff
- 2PM onwards, saturday
- halloween social??
- costumes??
## finance
- Can we get more manilla folders and 1/4 heavy duty staplers
- will place PRs for this
- finwan: pencils arrived; will pick them up
- finwan: got reply that the rollover was not meant to rollover :(
- do not touch that money
- finwan: placed PRs for printer screen + paper
- finwan: will talk with andi about furnature options
## decal
- how lecture this week fellas
- unknown
## design
- they keep ghosting me bro
- they keep ghosting me bro (specifically about the shirts)
- vqbc: angelawuski not able to make it, but willing to design many items
- suggested stickers, flyers, merch
- will talk about next BoD
## rebuild
- so uh whats up fellas
- elenah: figured out why printers werent working with new devhost:
- multiple menus, one of which goes before the firewall
- made it so that koi never worked
- will clear it so that the default option is open connection
- explains a lot of things
- why ocfstats didn't work for printing
- elenah: reason we are buying new screen:
- you can just pop the screens off, just need to unscrew the grounding cable
- so, we just buy new screen so that we no longer have broken screen
- elenah: printlist is very dead and should not be revived
- redis is no longer used for printing, so if printlist is recreated, it should be in a very different form
- elenah: we should move bestdocs to kubernetes, was planning on looking into
- sbwilliams: broke networking for a bit, fixed it
- don't be afraid to break things if you can fix it
- rschuetz: anyone have experience writing github actions?
- want automatic cherrypicking of PRs to staging branch in flux so that it is automatically tested in staging cluster
- explained in an issue on ocf/flux
- currently, staging cluster is operational in this way, but manual
- msonmez:
- AI policy status?
- sbwilliams: not written yet, but fairly finalized
- able to integrate new people, anyone promising?
- elenah: definitely already people integrated, very cool!
- sbwilliams: made a bunch of kubernetes issues
- elenah: please add docs for what was done to wordpress yesterday
- vqbc: would rather have devlog style docs than no docs at all
- sbwilliams: don't want to do that because don't know what would be useful to other people + don't want people to run bad commands
- michaelzls: better to just not give people permissions
