Redesign the verdict page and share card with dark and light themes - #5
Conversation
The verdict page, share card and landing page used three different palettes, and the card was an SVG that social platforms will not show as a link preview. Both now follow the landing page's design system. Verdict page (still one self-contained HTML file, no build step): - Dark "night courtroom" and light "paper" themes: follows the OS preference, with a toggle that remembers the choice. - Ruling panel with the decision, score and tally bar; the bench as seven lights with the majority/dissent split; a spotlight quote from the dissenting seat; seat cards with a lede, key number, flip condition, action and a link to the seat each one answers. - Copy link, share card download and print-to-PDF (all sections expanded, light colours); reduced-motion support; noscript fallback; placeholders for social metadata. - Fonts are self-hosted and embedded (OFL licences included), so the page works offline and makes no third-party requests. Share card: - New layout with the verdict, score, seven lights and the dissent quote, cut at a clause break with an ellipsis rather than mid-phrase. - --theme=light, embedded fonts, and --png, which renders card.png with a local Chrome, Edge or Chromium (no npm dependency). - docket now writes card.svg, and card.png when a browser is found. tools/embed-fonts.js regenerates the embedded fonts; a test keeps the page in sync with the font files. Tests cover themes, fonts and PNG output.

📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe PR replaces the basic share SVG with a themed 1200×630 card that embeds fonts, summarizes votes, and supports optional PNG rendering. The docket command now creates the card files. Tests, font licenses, tooling, and documentation were updated. ChangesShare card generation

The ruling panel and the card washed their background in the verdict's own colour, so gold type sat on a gold haze. Both now use the landing page's teal-blue, and the blurred copy behind the verdict word is gone; vote colour stays on the rail, type, tally bar and seat lights. Add assets/council.jpg as a header band: an empty bench with the paper boat, so it states no tally and stays true for any verdict. It fades into the page in dark and ends as a plate with a rule in light, and is hidden when printing. 36 KB, embedded like the fonts by tools/embed-assets.js (renamed from embed-fonts.js).
renderPng treats an existing file as a successful render, so a leftover card.png in the entry folder could be reported as freshly written when no browser is found or the render fails.
