CImbel is a browser-based tool that helps users of cochlear implants measure their perceived loudness and pitch, simulate fittings before going to the audiologist, and print out the requested changes for an appointment.
The tool runs online in your browser: CI Sound Balancing Tool
Supported manufacturers: MED-EL, Cochlear, Advanced Bionics.
"CImbel" sounds similar to [cymbal])(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cymbal) or Zimbel, a musical instrument. The spelling incorporates the abbreviation "CI" for cochlear implants, as well as the suffix "-bel," as found in "decibel".
If one wishes to interpret the name as an acronym, "CI Multi-Band Equal Loudness" would be a fitting choice. This name was selected to provide a term that is both conceptually relevant and easy to use in conversation.
