GPT Chess

GPT Chess is a small, zero-server chess game that runs entirely in the browser. You play White. When it is Black's turn, the page copies the position for ChatGPT and asks it to return a link carrying one legal move back to the game.

No OpenAI key enters the page, there is no application backend, and the game is saved only in the browser.

Run locally

Requires Node.js 22 or later.

npm install
npm run dev

Open the local URL shown by Vite. Select a white piece, then select one of its highlighted destinations.

The automated suite covers chess rules, serialization, GPT reply validation, stale positions, and the return-link parser. See DESIGN.md for the product and security decisions.
