The real-app re-test found three places where the words were wrong for someone the move had not reached yet.

Where Before After
Strip, new app + Cloud still on the older image + moves on "Moving your bots to My Cloud…" for good "My Cloud is updating. Your move starts when it's done." (12 languages)
The Cloud's welcome, moves off, Continue (a fresh start) "Bring your stuff" ✓ Done though nothing came The step shows as skipped (a dash, read out as "Skipped") until something comes over, then as done
Switcher, before the move, My Cloud open in the window "Your bots live on My Cloud. This computer has its own: …" "These bots live on this computer: … My Cloud has its own." The first line is said only once home is My Cloud

How

  • Updating.
    • A copy pass that My Cloud refuses as too old to take a move (CloudSendError code outdated, from its environment or a 404 on /api/cloud-send) puts the move in a waiting state: updating in the journal, and { phase: "copy", updating: true } in the line.
    • This isn't the move failing: it starts no day-of-failing clock, shows no Try again, and retries on the short schedule.
    • It also goes again at once when My Cloud comes back after updating (the existing cameBack rule).
    • An ordinary failure, or a successful pass, clears it.
    • While a pass is actually running, the move's own line shows.
  • Skipped. railStatus() in CloudWelcome.tsx ticks "Bring your stuff" only when something came over, or when the step was finished in a way other than skipping. A skipped step shows the existing "Skipped" (cloudSetup.skipped). The step order is unchanged.
  • Switcher. placesMenuOptions takes home (main passes oneHome.away()) instead of comparing the window's place. This is one changed line in electron/main.mjs, so its line count stays at the pin.
  • Old Cloud images. The welcome is the Cloud's own page, so a Cloud still on an older image keeps its old tick until it updates.

Tests

Each fix has a test that fails on the old code:

  • Updating, unit (one-home.node-test.mjs): the waiting state is never failing, even after a day. A running pass shows the move again. An ordinary failure brings the failing clock back. Then the move finishes.
  • Updating, line (cloud-send.test.ts): the line text on both pages, and in German.
  • Updating, e2e (new server/one-home-outdated.e2e.test.ts): main's real wiring with My Cloud's environment answering as an older image's does. Both pages' notices say updating, nothing counts as failing, and once My Cloud answers as updated the move finishes.
  • Skipped (CloudWelcome.test.ts): Continue with nothing come over shows "Bring your stuff (Skipped)", not done. A move then shows the spinner and then done. Opened again later with nothing come over, it is still skipped.
  • Switcher (environments.node-test.mjs): before the move, "These bots live on this computer…" even with My Cloud open. Once home, "Your bots live on My Cloud…".

Mutation checks: 11 of 11 caught:

  • updating is never shown;
  • outdated is treated as a failure;
  • updating starts the failing clock;
  • an ordinary failure keeps updating;
  • updating shows while a pass runs (this one survived the first time, so the test now covers a running pass);
  • the line ignores updating;
  • the outdated case in the e2e;
  • skipped counts as done;
  • skipped beats on its way;
  • the read-out text says "Not done yet";
  • the switcher says "live on My Cloud" before the move.

Wider runs:

  • node --test electron/*.node-test.mjs: 1015 pass, 3 skipped, 0 fail.
  • The cloud-welcome, CloudSetup, cloud-send, locale (vocabulary included), CloudSendStrip, switcher and file-size ratchet tests pass.
  • The one-home, retry, outdated, trial key and team move e2e pass.
  • pnpm i18n:check, tsc -b, tsc -p tsconfig.server.json and oxlint are clean.

Locales: one new key, cloudSend.move.updating, in all 12 languages. source-hashes.json gets that key only, placed next to cloudSend.move.finishing in each language rather than at the end, so it merges with the other open PRs.

With the other open PRs

Merges cleanly with #3278 (no overlapping hunks), #3276, #3277, #3280 and #3273. Checked together with the session and routine PRs, #3276 and #3280: all green. I didn't need any of them for these tests.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Cloud moves now clearly show when My Cloud is updating before the transfer can begin.
    • Transfers automatically retry after My Cloud updates, then continue normally.
    • Onboarding progress distinguishes completed, skipped, and in-progress steps, with clearer visual and accessibility indicators.
    • Added localized messaging for the update status across supported languages.
  • Bug Fixes

    • Corrected workspace menu status when My Cloud is active.
    • Prevented outdated Cloud states from being reported as transfer failures.

…uff is not Done, and "live on My Cloud" only once it is home

Three places where the words were wrong for someone the move had not reached yet:
- A new app with a Cloud still on an older image, moves on: the move can't start until My Cloud updates, but the line
  said "Moving your bots to My Cloud…" for good. It now says "My Cloud is updating. Your move starts when it's done."
  (12 languages). That is not the move failing: no day-of-failing line, no Try again, and the move goes as soon as My
  Cloud has updated.
- With moves off, Continue (a fresh start) on the Cloud's welcome ticked "Bring your stuff" though nothing came. The
  step now shows as skipped until something does come over, then as done.
- The switcher said "Your bots live on My Cloud" whenever the window showed My Cloud, also to someone who had not
  moved. It says so only once home is My Cloud; before that, "These bots live on this computer".

📝 Walkthrough

The move flow now marks outdated Cloud transfers as updating and retries them. Both move pages display that state. The welcome rail distinguishes skipped steps, and the workspace places menu uses a home flag to identify My Cloud.

Changes: Cloud move update handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Record and retry outdated transfers
electron/one-home.d.mts, electron/one-home.mjs, electron/one-home.node-test.mjs, server/one-home-outdated.e2e.test.ts
The copy view exposes an updating flag when My Cloud must update. Outdated transfer errors set that state and schedule bounded retries. Tests cover retries, other errors, and eventual completion.
Display the updating move status
src/lib/cloud-send.ts, src/lib/cloud-send.test.ts, src/locales/*.json, src/locales/source-hashes.json
Both move pages display a localized updating message. The message and locale entries are covered by tests.

Cloud welcome onboarding rail

Layer / File(s) Summary
Derive and render onboarding step states
src/components/cloud-welcome/CloudWelcome.tsx, src/components/cloud-welcome/CloudWelcome.test.ts
The rail distinguishes completed, skipped, bringing, and pending steps. Skipped steps display a minus icon and skipped accessibility text. Tests cover the fresh-start flow and transfer progress.

Workspace places menu

Layer / File(s) Summary
Pass home state to the places menu
electron/environments.cjs, electron/main.mjs, electron/environments.node-test.mjs
The menu uses a home boolean instead of the active environment ID. Tests cover the resulting bot-location text and existing timeout and no-cloud behavior.

The move may briefly show an incorrect retry state, and onboarding may later show a completed transfer as skipped. These bounded issues merit fixes or explicit acceptance before merging.

Clear prior failure state when My Cloud starts updating.

If an ordinary copy failure occurs before an outdated response, updating() retains failingSince. A later ordinary failure can then show “Try again” immediately, even though that failure just occurred. A prior frozen failure can also leave hourly: true, which prevents the move from retrying immediately when My Cloud returns. Clear failingSince, error, and hourly when writing the updating state.

Persist the skipped-to-done transition.

When a successful move is no longer available through sent, the persisted skipped hint makes railStatus return "skipped" again. Supersede or clear that hint when the transfer succeeds, including the path where remoteClient.active bypasses sendBridge.

Preserve the My Cloud product name.

The source message names My Cloud. Cloud'un changes the product name and reads as a possessive form. Use Turkish wording that retains My Cloud, such as My Cloud güncelleniyor. Güncelleme bitince taşınma başlar.
