Adds a language option to the Commit plugin (/plugin configure commit@better-claude or /config), so commit messages can be written in Spanish or any other language instead of always English.

  • userConfig.language: free text, default English. The value repo follows the language of the last 10 commits (now passed to the command as Recent commits).
  • The command reads it through ${user_config.language}. When the option was never saved, Claude Code leaves the placeholder as is, so the prompt falls back to English in that case. Nothing changes for current users.
  • Bumps commit to 0.3.0 in plugin.json and marketplace.json. README updated.

Tested with claude --plugin-dir plugins/commit --settings '{"pluginConfigs":{"commit@inline":{"options":{"language":"Spanish"}}}}' on a scratch repo: feat(calc): añadir función de suma. Unset, it still commits in English. claude plugin validate plugins/commit passes.

El plugin Commit permite configurar el idioma de los mensajes; por defecto usa inglés y, con repo, toma como referencia los 10 commits recientes.
La actualización documenta esta opción y cambia la versión del plugin a 0.3.0.

Walkthrough

The commit plugin adds a configurable language for commit messages, with English as the default. The repo setting uses the language of recent commits, or English if there are none. The command instructions now include the ten most recent commits. The plugin version changes to 0.3.0, and the README describes the language setting.

Priority: Normal

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to c1224

A crafted recent commit message could influence Git actions beyond choosing a language. Constrain how commit history is used before merging.

Security architecture risk: Moderate · up to c1224

Recent commit text is now read on every run before changes are staged, committed, and pushed. This adds contributor-controlled input to a privileged workflow. Misuse has not been demonstrated, and existing Git permissions are unchanged.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · security · inferred: Contributor-authored commit subjects now enter the same instruction context that selects Git actions. History is loaded unconditionally, although its intended purpose is language selection in repo mode. Instruction-like subjects could therefore influence staging, branching, or pushing beyond that purpose. This is an inferred exposure expansion, not a verified exploit; existing contributor-controlled diff input and unchanged action rules are important counterevidence.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — A contributor whose subject appears among the ten recent commits can supply the new input; exploitation would additionally require the runtime to treat that text as actionable instructions. The immediate potential outcomes involve the Git index, local branches and commits, and a remote push using the invoking environment's authority. The declared Git command pattern does not itself demonstrate repository isolation; maximum filesystem, credential, and remote reach remain unknown.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — The plausible new path is contributor-authored history to action-selection context to unintended Git operations. Static source establishes ingestion and declared action authority, not successful instruction takeover. Neither deferred candidate is promoted to a verified finding: runtime behavior and effective permissions remain unverified, and the second candidate still lacks its required candidate-bound receipt.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The command assigns history a language-selection purpose and separately instructs the workflow to honor user choices, exclude secrets, and restrict branch creation. However, the history insertion has no explicit instruction-versus-data boundary in this file, and the safety rules are natural-language instructions rather than an action-validation layer shown here. Runtime enforcement outside the file is unknown.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — The existing transition sequence asks for intent, optionally creates a branch, resets an unsuitable index, commits groups, and optionally pushes. Push failure stops after local changes have occurred. The command specifies no interruption recovery, whole-workflow rollback, retry identity, or concurrency coordination. These unchanged properties make action integrity important but are not separate PR-introduced concerns; external protections were not established.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Limit history ingestion to repo mode and separate language inference from Git action selection, passing only a constrained language result into the mutation workflow. Validate the boundary with adversarial commit subjects under representative tool permissions; this is a risk-reduction proposal, not an established fix.

Explanation
