Suggestion: For compositions longer than 128 bytes, the caret is converted against truncated text, so a valid caret beyond the prefix is reported at the wrong byte position.

Suggestion: When waitpid returns zero, errno may still be ECHILD from an earlier call, so this treats a running child as reaped and skips SIGKILL cleanup.

Preserve the pressed button on drag events
The three drag selectors (mouseDragged:, rightMouseDragged:, and otherMouseDragged:) all reach this handler, which marks every motion event as .none. Consequently, applications using button-motion mode (?1002) receive no drag events because encodeMouseEvent explicitly filters .motion with a .none button, while any-motion mode (?1003) reports the wrong button code. Pass the event's actual button for drag callbacks while retaining .none only for ordinary mouseMoved: events.

Drain autoreleased title strings during runtime
When a terminal application repeatedly emits OSC 0/2 title updates, each call creates an autoreleased NSString, but this method runs after pollEvents has drained its temporary pool. The only remaining pool is the backend's initialization pool, which is not drained until deinit, so title-changing workloads retain one string per update for the entire session and can grow memory without bound. Wrap this conversion/update in a short-lived autorelease pool.

Preserve cwd when invoking the bundled executable
When a user launches /Applications/zt.app/Contents/MacOS/zt directly from a shell, NSBundle.mainBundle.bundlePath still ends in .app, so this branch changes the process directory to $HOME even though the launch was from the CLI. That contradicts the documented behavior that CLI launches preserve the caller's directory and causes the spawned shell to open in the wrong directory; distinguish an actual Finder/LaunchServices launch rather than treating every executable located inside an app bundle as one.

Sanitize invalid UTF-8 before creating the title string
When a terminal program emits an OSC 0/2 title containing non-UTF-8 bytes, the VT parser preserves those bytes, and stringWithUTF8String: returns nil for the resulting buffer. Passing that result to setTitle: can raise an Objective-C exception and terminate the terminal; validate or replace malformed sequences before constructing the NSString.

There was a problem hiding this comment.
Accumulate precise trackpad deltas before emitting wheel presses
On trackpads, one gesture produces many events with small fractional scrollingDeltaY values, but every nonzero value is converted into a full wheel press. The shared mouse handler then scrolls scrollback_wheel_lines or emits a VT wheel report for each callback, making ordinary trackpad gestures jump through large amounts of history or flood mouse-aware applications; precise deltas should be accumulated to a threshold instead.

Queue long insertions without dropping chunks
When AppKit supplies a large insertText: payload—for example through dictation, Services, or another input method—the callback enqueues every 128-byte chunk synchronously into a 64-slot ring. The preceding preedit-clear event leaves room for at most 62 chunks (about 7.9 KiB), after which pushEvent silently rejects the remaining chunks, so the committed text is truncated even though this loop continues consuming it. Use storage that can accommodate the full insertion or dispatch it without relying on the bounded UI-event ring.

User description
zt 0.10.0 adds official native Mac support on macOS 14+ for Apple Silicon and Intel. Builds select Cocoa and a login zsh shell automatically, and releases include Finder-launchable app bundles alongside standalone Mac and Linux binaries.
Validation: Apple Silicon release build and signed 0.10.0 app bundle; 177/178 local tests passed with Cocoa integration enabled (one OS-specific skip); CLI/Finder launch, controlling terminal/process group, short-lived commands, plist, codesign, format and diff checks passed. The macOS implementation passed native Apple Silicon and Intel CI, plus Linux X11/Wayland builds and tests; the 0.10.0 documentation/version update is being checked again before merge.
Physical IME candidate selection and multiple-display behavior remain manual QA items. Mac app bundles are ad hoc signed and not notarized.
