In order to make CakesFW work you need the following files:
- The latest version of Cakes
-
firmware.bin and cetk for Old3DS (Rename the
00000050file intofirmware.bin) -
firmware.bin and cetk for New3DS (Rename the
0000001Ffile intofirmware.bin)
Copy all the files from the cakes.zip file into the root of the SD card. Next place the firmware.bin and cetk files in the cakes folder and remove all the .here files.
The most common way to launch a CFW is with the Homebrew Launcher. (However you can use other exploids like MSET or A9LH too.) Boot into the Homebrew Launcher with the entrypoint of your choice, and simply select the CakesFW icon. (If you nothing but a blackscreen, you might want to repeat this step.)
Now you see the Cakes menu, now you can do the following things;
-
Boot CFWSelect this to boot into the CFW. -
Select PatchesHere you can enable/disable all the installed .cake patches. More info -
More options...Here you can toggle some simple options like autobooting and select what Emunand you like to boot. -
