After the plugin update, will mobile users who have it installed automatically get the update?
I've observed for a day and noticed no change (update time is new, the version is old).
Do they need to uninstall and reinstall to get the latest version?
After the plugin update, will mobile users who have it installed automatically get the update? I've observed for a day and noticed no change(update time is right but version is old). Do they need to uninstall and reinstall to get the latest version?
Update: When I reopened Edge, I found that the plugin detail page that was originally open had crashed, and the plugin had become disabled. After re-enabling, it had already updated. Could updates cause the plugin detail page to crash? I've also encountered this crash issue with other plugins on my phone before.
Hi Phil Xu (@newbeea) could you please elaborate on the issue a bit more with relevant screenshots to help check this with the respective team and help you with an answer, thanks.
Hi Rahul-Bauri
Since the plugin on my phone has been updated, the relevant scene no longer exists. I will pay attention to this in my next release.
Let me describe it in words:
I released version 1.0.2 on 08.28.
On the mobile end, I noticed that the plugin detail page showed the update time as 08.28, but the version number was 1.0.1, and after verification, the functionality was also 1.0.1.
After a few hours, I opened Edge again, the plugin detail page was in a crashed state, and the plugin was also disabled.
After I re-enabled it, the version number and functionality were both 1.0.2.
Users do not normally need to uninstall and reinstall to receive an updated version.
Once version 1.0.2 is published and available, Edge will check for extension updates and install them automatically. Microsoft notes that Edge automatically checks for extension updates periodically.
There can be a delay between:
the store showing a newer update date, and
the device actually downloading and activating the new extension package.
