# Akan Name Generator

## Project Description
The Akan Name Generator is a web-based application that allows users to determine their Akan name based on their birthdate and gender. Akan names are derived from the day of the week a person is born, and this application provides a simple and interactive way to discover your Akan name.

## Setup Instructions
1. Clone the repository to your local machine:
   ```bash
   git clone https://github.com/your-username/akan-name-generator.git
2. navigate to the project directory
    cd akan-name-generator
3. open the index.html file in your browser to run the application


## Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
### Features
1. **Input Validation**:
   - **Given**: A user enters an invalid date or leaves the input fields empty.
   - **When**: The user submits the form.
   - **Then**: An error message is displayed prompting the user to correct the input.

2. **Akan Name Generation**:
   - **Given**: A user enters a valid birthdate and selects a gender.
   - **When**: The user submits the form.
   - **Then**: The application calculates the day of the week and displays the corresponding Akan name.

3. **Gender Validation**:
   - **Given**: A user selects an invalid gender.
   - **When**: The user submits the form.
   - **Then**: An error message is displayed prompting the user to select a valid gender.

### Example
- **Input**: Birthdate: `1995-06-15`, Gender: `Male`
- **Output**: "Your Akan name is: Kwadwo"
