ipatool doen't work correctly with PowerShell (or other shell/wrapper environment) on macOS 27 #587
@majd I think, that this is powershell issue, but can you check, that problem isn't with ipatool.
Via Terminal all works fine, but I'm using PowerShell in my IPA_Downloader script.
Maybe there would be easy workaround or I should wait for PowerShell update?
Cause I don't know how to write issue on PowerShell GitHub correctly)
Version
2.6.0

Put ipatool-darwin-arm64 near this file and run go run test_login.go in Terminal.
Have you error with login too or not?
I've tested on 2 MacBook Air with macOS 27 and both have error with 100% true credentials.

@majd Here's what Claude says:
type this command in Terminal and PowerShell (pwsh):
ifconfig en0 | grep ether
You will see different mac addresses in Terminal and pwsh, so, maybe here's a key?
And fix should be with MacAddress() in ./pkg/util/machine/machine.go?

Can you check out this PR and test ipatool with the latest commit there? #588

If I start ipatool via Terminal - all works excellent.
Why PowerShell causing problems?
On macOS 26 all was fine with PowerShell too.
majd commentedon Sep 19, 2026
I'm not sure. At this point, I'm wondering why you'd even use PowerShell.
kda2495 commentedon Sep 19, 2026
Cause I want cross-platform support.
Problem isn't in PowerShell.
If I rewrite my script on Go and start Go-script, it also doesn't login.

@majd To test this you can run this go-script:
Put ipatool-darwin-arm64 near this file and run go run test_login.go in Terminal.
Have you error with login too or not?
I've tested on 2 MacBook Air with macOS 27 and both have error with 100% true credentials.

@majd here is difference of direct executable launch vs shell/wrapper environment on macOS 27. But I haven't found any solution.
