Truvark is first and foremost a security-focused application. The goal is to provide strong, well-understood security guarantees rather than relying on "security through obscurity" features. While some vault applications include hidden modes, disguises, fake vaults, or similar mechanisms, these are generally not aligned with the project's philosophy. Features that create a false sense of security are especially problematic, as they can encourage users to lower their guard without providing meaningful protection in return. Security should come from the design and implementation of the application, not from making users believe their data is safer than it actually is.
Therefore, the scope and development of Truvark are intentionally guided by this security-first approach. Truvark started as a tool built to meet my own needs and was later shared with the community. While feedback and feature requests are always welcome, the project's direction is intentionally focused rather than driven by feature accumulation. New features are considered when they solve a genuine problem, provide meaningful value, fit naturally within the existing design, and do not compromise security or reliability. Each addition must justify the complexity it introduces and its long-term maintenance cost. As a result, some requests may not be implemented, even if they would be useful to some users. The goal is not to build the most feature-rich vault application, but to build one that can remain secure, dependable, and maintainable over time.
