Features

• Catalog counts (P1) - Surface MCP server catalog counts in status #386 - PR feat: add catalog counts to MCPServer status #364 (in review)
• Discovery TTL caching (P2) - Cache MCP discovery results with a configurable TTL #387
• .well-known server card (P3) - Support .well-known server card for MCP server discovery #357 - PR WIP: feat: add server card metadata to MCPServer status #365 (on hold: upstream Server Card WG spec not finalized)
• Enterprise auth / agent identity (P4) - Support enterprise auth and agent identity for MCP servers #358
• Progressive discovery (related) - Support progressive discovery for large MCP server tool catalogs #359

Each feature is tracked in its own issue; this issue tracks overall progress.

Related cross-SIG work: kube-agentic-networking PR #227 (kubernetes-sigs/kube-agentic-networking#227) - tool-discovery proposal (XToolInventory CRD). Informs the catalog-counts (#386) and TTL-caching (#387) items here, and points at MCP SEP #2549 (modelcontextprotocol/modelcontextprotocol#2549) as the upstream ttlMs freshness mechanism.
