last-scan checkpoint for the forensic journal. Each diff_*.json therefore
contains only what changed since the preceding scanβnot every historical change
since the baseline. This keeps a stale baseline from hiding a new event in a
repeated multi-megabyte report.
Retention limits are enforced by default: 250 MB total and 30 days of
incremental history. The daemon prunes on startup and after saving each diff,
always removing the oldest diffs first. The trusted baseline and the rolling
checkpoint are never removed. When the baseline is older than 30 days or a
large portion of monitored files differs, status and the daemon log a review
prompt; Feelgoodbot never silently accepts that changed state.

The gate engine provides a request/approve/deny lifecycle for sensitive actions. Unlike simple TOTP checks, gates support asynchronous approval flows β perfect for AI agents that need human authorization via Telegram.
