Kali 2025.4 restructured the GNOME shell theme — gnome-shell.css no longer contains a standalone #lockDialogGroup or .login-dialog block for sed injection. VERSION_KALI_FORIMG now appends a fresh CSS override rule to the end of gnome-shell.css instead of searching for an existing selector, which works on all versions via CSS cascade. CHECKING_IMG updated to match. Added file_gst_dark and file_gst_light variables for 2025.4 split CSS theme compatibility.
