In @.github/workflows/ios.yml:
- Line 10: Harden the build-and-test job by limiting its permissions to
read-only repository contents and configuring actions/checkout@v4 with
credential persistence disabled before Swift tests and xcodebuild run. Preserve
the existing checkout and build flow.
In `@ios/Flow/EditorViewController.swift`:
- Line 108: Debounce the autosave triggered by textViewDidChange before it
reaches saveRequested and FlowStore.save(_:), using a short cancellable delay so
typing does not perform synchronous persistence on every keystroke. Ensure any
pending autosave is flushed when the editor closes, preserving the final text
before teardown.
In `@ios/Flow/SceneDelegate.swift`:
- Around line 36-45: The SceneDelegate catch block needs a destructive “Start a
new library” recovery action for FlowStore initialization failures. When
selected, move the existing library directory to a timestamped sibling, create a
fresh FlowStore from the original location, and install the normal root view
controller while preserving the moved directory; retain the existing Close
action and error alert behavior otherwise.
In `@ios/Flow/SettingsViewController.swift`:
- Line 159: Update the restore flow around FlowStore.restore and the alert
handler to use an asynchronous restore API that performs attachment copying and
library persistence off the main thread, then publishes the restored state and
performs UI updates on the main thread.
In `@ios/FlowCore/Sources/FlowCore/FlowBackup.swift`:
- Around line 170-171: Update the legacy backup size check in FlowBackup so an
unavailable fileSizeKey is treated as a failure rather than defaulting to zero;
only allow Data(contentsOf:) to proceed when a known file size is within
metadataLimit.
In `@ios/FlowCore/Sources/FlowCore/FlowStore.swift`:
- Around line 21-25: Update FlowStore.init(directory:) to load the library
without failing when attachmentURL(attachment) points to a missing file: prune
only the missing attachment metadata, preserve all valid entries and folders,
persist the pruned library, and return or otherwise report the affected
attachments to the caller so startup can continue.
In `@ios/FlowCore/Sources/FlowCore/Models.swift`:
- Around line 119-133: Update FlowDate.string and FlowDate.date to reuse two
read-only static ISO8601DateFormatter instances: one configured with fractional
seconds for string formatting and parsing, and one configured without fractional
seconds for the date fallback. Preserve the existing parsing order and output
behavior without creating formatters per call.

Reviewed every CodeRabbit finding and pushed the fixes in f8af0cf. Each review thread now has the decision and validation details. The repeated row scans were worth fixing too: attachment membership and folder counts are computed once per reload. I kept missing attachment records for recovery instead of deleting them automatically. I skipped the blanket 80% docstring target; the new restore and recovery APIs have comments explaining their behavior. Local validation passed: 17 core tests, all 5 UI tests on both iPhone and iPad, and an unsigned Release build for iOS devices. GitHub Actions still requires an upstream maintainer to approve the fork workflow. This 52-second recording shows the UIKit app on the iPhone 17 Pro simulator with sample data: notes and tasks, task completion, delete and undo, folders, and settings. flow-ios-usage.mp4 |

When a save fails during Back or an interactive pop—for example, because the device is out of storage—viewWillDisappear catches the error without stopping navigation. The editor is then popped with unsaved changes still pending, so the controller and the user's edits can be discarded. Presenting an alert from the disappearing controller does not preserve the draft. Gate navigation on a successful save or otherwise retain the unsaved draft for retry.

Restore Retains Old Attachments
A successful library restore publishes the new metadata but never removes attachment files belonging only to the replaced library. Those potentially large or sensitive files remain under Application Support until a later app launch performs startup cleanup, unnecessarily retaining deleted data and consuming disk space after the user confirms replacement. Clean the old unreferenced files after the new library commits while preserving rollback safety.

The workflow executes both actions/checkout@v4 here and actions/upload-artifact@v4 on line 35 through mutable tags. If either upstream tag is repointed, the workflow will execute substituted code on the macOS runner with access to the checked-out repository and its read-scoped token. Pin both actions to full commit SHAs so the executed dependencies are immutable.
How this was verified: Both workflow steps reference movable v4 tags and run with repository read access.

@gregor-tokarev another circle of review hell |

just wanted to add that this pull request is not really to merge it it's more like inspiration and example on how it might look on iPhone. |

I understand. At the current iOS version state it can't be counted as part of original Flow app as it got some features that aren't present in Flow and doesn't have some features that are. So let's do it this way: Deal? |
Deal. |

Alright! Closing this PR. I will mention your repo in README when you update it |
Flow currently runs on Android. This adds a native UIKit app for iPhone and iPad, targeting iOS 16 or later, with an Xcode project and a local Swift package for storage and backups.
.flowarchives and version 5 legacy JSON imports. Imports validate metadata and attachment files before replacing the library, including Android's unknown-size and nullable MIME-type fields.Validation completed locally:
git diff --checkpassed.The interface currently uses English. Physical-device installation requires a development signing team. Build and usage instructions are in
