  • a shared template (no merchant) must belong to the run merchant's reseller, else the step parks
  • unknown merchant or no reseller: parks; merchant lookup DB error: raises and the walker retries
  • prod check: all 771 published call steps use the merchant's own template, nothing changes for them

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Call workflows now accept shared templates only when they belong to the merchant’s reseller. Templates belonging to another merchant or reseller, or used without a known reseller, are rejected.
    • Merchant-specific templates continue to work for their own merchant. Lookup errors are surfaced rather than silently treated as a rejection.

Walkthrough

Call-node execution now validates merchant-owned templates against the run merchant and shared templates against the run merchant’s reseller. Tests cover ownership mismatches, missing merchant or reseller data, successful matches, and merchant lookup errors.

Call-node execution checks merchant ownership or, for shared templates, reseller ownership. Mismatches park the node. Lookup errors propagate. Tests cover these cases and provide merchant lookup stubs for existing call-node tests.

Shared templates now require a matching merchant reseller, and database errors remain retryable. The change is mergeable with a bounded architecture-contract correction or explicit follow-up; no newly introduced runtime failure was established.

A rabbit checks the template’s name,
And asks which reseller owns the game.
A match may let the call proceed,
A mismatch parks it, as agreed.
Lookup errors still make their way,
While tests keep watch along the way.

Check the reseller for merchant-owned templates too.

After a merchant moves to another reseller, its merchant-owned templates keep the old reseller_id. execute accepts them because it compares only merchant_id (call.py:130-134). It then inserts the lead with template.reseller_id (call.py:173), so dialing, pause checks, and credential lookup use the previous reseller. This predates the change: the same path exists at the base commit. Compare the template's reseller with the merchant's current reseller on this branch, or update template reseller IDs when a merchant is reassigned.

Note: this behaviour predates this PR (already present at merge base ffd3077fbaf9); the change keeps it reachable.

Assert the merchant ID passed to the reseller lookup.

_merchant_under ignores its argument, so the shared-template tests also pass if execute looks up the wrong merchant. Record the received ID and assert that it is "m1".

Route the merchant lookup through an approved CRM contract.

app/crm/outreach/nodes/call.py directly imports the foreign database accessor app.database.accessor.breeze_buddy.merchants.get_merchant_by_merchant_identifier. The CRM boundary rules require cross-module access through contracts.py. Expose the merchant lookup through its owning module’s contract and call that contract from outreach.
