Simple webapp (running local, v1) where you click "PRACTICE". A prompt appears with a nice countdown timer, giving you about 30 seconds to think of a hook and some bullet points.
The screen will notify you with a 3,2,1, at which point there will be a "REC" (recording) sign. The user then speaks for 2 minutes, as the app listens. At the end of the two minutes, the audio is transcribed and processed.
The focus is on clarity of communication, strong ending paragraph, and use of speaking frameworks.
Feedback provided to the user will center around questions to consider, eliminating filler words, and positive reinforcement of good practices. It's possible to narrow this down to "tell me about yourself" (job interview style questions) but I'll save that for later.
Straightforward UI, simple. Intuitive to use, and user comes away feeling that they have a takeaway they can use to better their speaking. Polished would mean it works on the computer and on mobile, animations are smooth and polished, transcription offers valuable feedback and loads quickly.
I'm really bad at polish, actually. By limiting the technological capabilties, I can focus on the mobile experience (I always optimize for computer), I can truly tweak the style, design, and workflow. I can interview users and thus interate on my product (what's confusing? what draws your eye?).
Ideally, too, I'll be able to post this on X a few days early, maybe even do some SEO and marketing. These are the aspects (distribution) I'm horrible at.
