Summary

  • Restore ~/.konan on every run but only save it from main, so PR runs (~0.5–0.9 GB each) don't fill the 10 GB cache quota and evict main's caches.
  • Weekly schedule (+ workflow_dispatch) so main's caches aren't evicted after 7 days unused (a cold run spends ~10 min on Kotlin/Native setup), and runner/Xcode image changes are caught early.
  • Build ARCHS=arm64 only (the generic simulator destination was also compiling Swift for x86_64).

Same change piloted in GalwayBus (joreilly/GalwayBus#123): "Build iOS app" went from 650s cold to 272s with warm caches.

Test plan

  • iOS CI passes on this PR
  • After merge, main run saves the konan cache (if not already present)

PR runs were each saving a ~0.5-0.9 GB ~/.konan cache, eating the repo's 10 GB
cache quota, and main's caches were evicted after 7 days without a main run,
leaving the next build cold (~10 min of Kotlin/Native setup). Restore the
konan cache on every run but only save it from main, and add a weekly
scheduled run to keep it warm.
Also build arm64 only for the simulator.
