The C allocation-failure recovery crashed on a real Windows host instead of returning NULL. Reproduced natively, diagnosed, fixed, and the test is on the Windows job now across five optimization levels.
Opened to get both hosted jobs onto the branch before the merge. The Windows side was run natively; the Linux side is what this needs.
