The defect half of round 20260902, one commit per item, bugs only. Every fix leaves a test that fails on the old code and passes now.
Opened to run the hosted windows job before the merge: this round changes the windows publish (hidden and system attributes), the C CLI's standard streams, the datetime parse and the parser's leading-blank handling.
