Describe the bug
Can't initialize SX1280 at Raspberry Pico 2 W.
Library expects something wrong as it can be seen at logs.
Same code work fine at Raspberry Pico W.

This is pretty strange, however, looking at the actual code it is itself a bit suspicious (since the version string is being passed via a pointer to a local string). I slightly reworked it and pushed the proposed fix into https://github.com/jgromes/RadioLib/tree/1877-version-string. Testing on SX1280 with normal RPi it works, but I don't have RPi Pico 2 to test with. Could you try if this resolves the problem?

This is a very strange situation.
I decided to create a reproduction example for you based on my project; I stripped out the unnecessary code and tried running it.
And guess what?
The program starts up, and the module is detected!

I started looking for the cause:

• I removed unused classes from the build file — that didn't help;
• I reduced the number of static variables (used for inter-core communication) to just one — that helped;

In my program, reading the data buffer from the radio module happens on a separate core, and the radio module itself is that static variable.
it looks like I need to rethink my approach and get rid of static variables entirely.

I don't think the radio instance being declared static is the root cause - it should only make that instance accessible from the translation unit (/file) in which it is declared. But at the same time I don't understand why making it static should be necessary to access it from multiple cores (as a side note, if that's what you're doing, it is a bad idea unless the accesses are synchronized by some locking mechanisms).

It should be noted that the library internally has no knowledge about what sort of environment it is running in and leaves all guards, mutexes etc. up to the SPI library.
