Dependabot opened #3 on 2026-08-22 against a base that is now 138 commits behind. Its verify job failed for reasons that have nothing to do with the bump: the branch still carries 34 checks and rows 26 and 28 from before they were repaired, so the falsifiability suite reported both as dead. The bump itself ran clean on that branch -- checkout@v7 resolved, fetch-depth 0 held, and verify reached the suite -- so the change is proven and only its base was stale. Applying it here rather than rebasing the bot branch keeps the proof and drops the noise. Gate machinery, not payload: no version bump, and check 24 stays green. Superseded by 75c2f27 on main, which carries the identical v4→v7 bump across all four jobs. This branch's verify failure was its base, not the bump: it forked at 34 checks and rows 26/28 were still dead there, both repaired on main since. checkout@v7 itself resolved and ran fine here (fetch-depth 0 held, verify reached the falsifiability suite), which is why the change was worth keeping rather than reworking. |
