orderBy/sortOrder seem to be ignored (results always ordered by id)

I don't think I'm out to lunch, but maybe I am. I'm finding that imjs always returns results in ascending objectId order no matter what I specify for orderBy or sortOrder. Maybe I've got the syntax wrong? But no error is thrown.
