Minecraft Bedrock Map Generator (.mcpack + 3D Preview)

A TypeScript Minecraft Bedrock map generator and .mcpack behavior-pack exporter with a browser 3D voxel preview. It includes a kid-friendly rocket theme park example, generated from real Bedrock /fill, /setblock, and /function commands.

The project is designed for iterative Minecraft map making: adjust the generated blueprint, inspect the browser preview, then export an importable Bedrock .mcpack only when the build is worth testing inside Minecraft.

The browser preview is the drafting table. The full sense of scale only lands once the pack is imported into Minecraft: stand at the base of the rocket tower, look up, and the generated build stops feeling like a small model. It becomes a towering launch park you can walk through.

Features

  • Generates a large Minecraft Bedrock map from real /fill, /setblock, and /function commands.
  • Renders the generated command output in a local browser preview before importing into Minecraft.
  • Exports a Bedrock .mcpack behavior pack with /function build, /function start, /function rescue, and /function clear.
  • Includes a space-launch entrance, vehicle-scale road grid, rocket plaza, launch tower, team HQ buildings, laser maze, rover speedway, and crystal area.
  • Keeps generated files out of git: .mcpack packages, build output, debug screenshots, and local Minecraft assets are intentionally ignored.

Current Scope

This is a polished reference generator, not a magic prompt-to-perfect-map engine.

The full large Bedrock park currently targets the moon-base rocket theme. The other built-in themes provide kid-facing planning copy, palettes, and simpler command paths, but they do not yet have the same coordinate-authored large Bedrock park treatment.

That is intentional for now: the high-detail scene is hand/AI-authored at coordinate level, then verified with browser preview and tests. Adding another polished theme means adding new structure modules, road plans, interiors, materials, preview checks, and tests instead of only changing a theme name.

Architecture Highlights

  • Command-driven preview: the browser renderer reads the same generated Bedrock command stream that is packaged into the .mcpack.
  • Single source of truth: map geometry lives in the TypeScript generator instead of being duplicated between a web preview and a Minecraft export.
  • Blueprint boundaries: large areas are grouped by layer and bounding boxes, making roads, buildings, interiors, launch structures, and decorations easier to audit.
  • Preview-first workflow: iterate in the browser, inspect cameras and metrics, then export only when the generated build is worth importing into Minecraft.
  • Bedrock-aware validation: tests check command markers, function entries, road layout, rocket/gate details, and per-command /fill volume limits.
  • AI-assisted authoring: new polished themes are expected to be created with an AI/code agent plus Minecraft screenshots, coordinate tests, and repeated preview passes.

Requirements

  • macOS, Windows, or Linux
  • Node.js 20+
  • Minecraft Bedrock Edition for importing the generated .mcpack

Optional for higher-fidelity browser preview:

  • A local copy of the Minecraft Bedrock vanilla resource pack, synced with npm run sync:minecraft-assets

This repository does not include Mojang/Microsoft texture assets.

Quick Start

npm install
npm run sync:minecraft-assets
npm start

Open:

http://127.0.0.1:8765

If you only want to inspect or export commands, the app can still run without synced vanilla textures. The preview will fall back where local assets are missing.

Export A Bedrock Pack

  1. Start the local app with npm start.
  2. Open http://127.0.0.1:8765.
  3. Use the 3D preview and camera buttons to inspect the build.
  4. Click 生成 Bedrock 地图包.
  5. Download the generated .mcpack.

Generated packs are written to exports/, which is ignored by git.

Import Into Minecraft Bedrock

  1. Open the downloaded .mcpack file.
  2. Wait for Minecraft to show the successful import message.
  3. In Minecraft, choose Play -> Create New -> Create New World.
  4. Set the world to Creative mode and turn cheats on.
  5. Open the world's Behavior Packs section, find the imported theme park pack under Available, and click Activate.
  6. Create the world, enter it, and stand where the center of the park should be.
  7. Open chat and run:
/function build
/function start

Run exactly /function build for the full park. Do not run internal_steps/step_* manually; those are partial chunks used by the build dispatcher.

Validation

npm run validate

The validation suite checks TypeScript, unit tests, Bedrock fill-volume limits, expected command markers, road layout constraints, function names, and key interior/rocket/gate details.

This is an unofficial fan/tooling project. It is not affiliated with Microsoft, Mojang, Minecraft, Maizen, JJ, Mikey, or SpaceX.

Minecraft names and assets belong to their respective owners. Do not commit copied vanilla resource-pack assets or redistributed game files to this repository.
