I can't input on Zoom/WPS Office

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior, please provide code snippets or a repository:

1. Go to 'WPS Office'
2. Press Ctrl+Space
3. Input something'
4. it will not use nimf

input Chinese

Did you use Flatpak/Snap to install Zoom/WPS Office?

I used dpkg/apt to install .deb package for Zoom and could not reproduce the situation: Nimf worked flawlessly.

If you used Flatpak/Snap, then it is a common glitch for Flatpak/Snap apps not to honor system IM settings. This is not a bug on Nimf's side; it is the other way around. (i.e. Zoom/WPS's Flatpak/Snap packaging is the problem.)

Solution for the package installed from Flatpak

In the case of Flatpak, you can fix this by enforcing system IM settings.

$ nano ~/.local/share/flatpak/overrides/global

Now copy and paste below two lines, save and exit.

[Environment] 
GTK_IM_MODULE=xim

Reboot and test if Nimf works now.

AFAIU, IM settings for Snap packages cannot be altered from the user-side. The only solution is to contact a package maintainer and request to patch the following files.

/run/user/<uid>/nimf/lock.pid
/run/user/<uid>/nimf/socket

The patch is on the first linked web page, which creates a symbolic link to /run/user/<uid>/nimf with the name /run/user/<uid>/snap.$SNAP, so that the package can use Nimf.
