Maksym Shtembuliak

Technical Lead · Systems Engineer

I work across the hardware–software boundary — from embedded electronics, firmware and C/C++ to Linux, networking, GPU-accelerated systems and real-time computer vision.

I am especially interested in engineering problems that cross abstraction layers: hardware, firmware, operating systems, networking, runtime behavior and application architecture.

My current professional work is mostly private/client work, so the public repositories here focus primarily on my open-source embedded, energy and Home Assistant projects.

Open-source projects

Local-first Home Assistant integration for hybrid solar inverters using EyeBond-compatible Wi-Fi collectors and SmartESS / SmartValue ecosystems.

Designed around direct LAN communication without dependency on the vendor cloud, with device discovery, multiple inverter/protocol families, monitoring and control, diagnostics, compatibility handling and support workflows for previously unknown hardware.

GitHub stars GitHub forks

ESP8266 / ESP32 firmware bridge for connecting compatible hybrid inverters directly to local software and Home Assistant without a factory cloud logger.

Combines embedded firmware, serial device protocols, networking and hardware–software integration.

Companion Home Assistant / Lovelace interface for EyeBond Local, providing a complete user-facing layer for inverter monitoring and energy-flow visualization.

Home Assistant integration for local electricity-outage status and schedule information in the Odesa region of Ukraine.
