Your day, one hover away.
KLOI is a native macOS workspace that lives at the top of your screen, around the MacBook notch. It keeps AI chat, dictation, translation, your calendar, quick notes, tasks, media controls, and everyday utilities close without pulling you away from what you are doing.

This is KLOI's public release and feedback repository. The application source code is maintained separately and is not published here.
KLOI turns the unused space around your Mac's notch into a focused collection of mini apps. Hover to open it, switch tools from the header, and return to your work without managing another full-size window.
- AI Chat — Ask questions, work with screenshots and files, keep conversation history, and choose between KLOI Mini and KLOI Pro based on your plan.
- Dictation — Start recording from a system-wide shortcut, transcribe speech, automatically copy or paste the result, and cancel an active recording with Escape.
- Translator — Translate text quickly, review previous translations, and listen to spoken results.
- Calendar — Connect Apple Calendar and see today's schedule and upcoming events without opening the Calendar app.
- Clipboard — Browse clipboard history for text, links, colors, and images; pin useful items, copy them again, or open detected links directly.
- Media — See what is playing and control supported media without leaving your current app.
- Browser — Keep a lightweight web panel inside KLOI and return to the tab you previously left open.
- Todo — Capture tasks quickly, reorder them with drag and drop, and keep them available across sessions.
- Notes — Write and revisit lightweight notes without switching to a separate notes window.
- Pomodoro — Run focus, short-break, long-break, and quick timers from the notch.
- Drop — Keep files on a temporary shelf or send them toward AirDrop and iCloud workflows.
- Window Snap — Arrange windows using halves, thirds, quarters, centered layouts, and multi-window presets.
- System Monitor — Check CPU, memory, and battery information at a glance.
- Coding Agents — Follow supported local coding-agent sessions from KLOI, including Zodex, Codex, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode as provider support evolves.
- A compact collapsed state for information you need at a glance.
- A responsive expanded workspace when you hover or open a mini app.
- Configurable mini apps and header placement.
- Alignment controls for different displays and notch layouts.
- System-wide shortcuts for actions such as dictation.
- Local caching for fast startup, with optional synchronization for supported content and history.
- Native light and dark appearance that follows macOS.
KLOI requires an active subscription for cloud-powered features.
- Starter includes KLOI Mini chat, dictation, translation, and basic conversation history for everyday use.
- Pro adds KLOI Pro chat, higher usage limits, screenshot and file chat, fuller conversation history, and advanced workflows.
Current pricing, limits, and plan details are available at kloi.app. Your subscription and usage can be managed from the KLOI account page and the desktop Settings window.
- macOS
- Apple silicon for currently published builds
- Internet access for account, AI, transcription, translation, and synchronization features
- A KLOI account and an active plan for subscription features
The exact minimum macOS version and any release-specific requirements are listed in each release's notes.
KLOI only asks for macOS permissions when a feature needs them. Depending on the mini apps you use, macOS may request access to:
- Microphone for dictation
- Calendar for Apple Calendar events
- Accessibility for actions such as automatic paste, global interaction, and window management
- Notifications for relevant background status updates
You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
KLOI follows a local-first approach where practical. Local utilities and caches stay on your Mac. Content sent to cloud-powered features—such as AI prompts, attached files, screenshots, translation text, or dictation audio—is transmitted only to provide the requested result.
Conversation text and selected history not stored. Dropped file contents are not retained as chat-history attachments after processing. KLOI does not use your private inputs to train its own models.
