title: Flotiq MCP Server in Claude | Flotiq docs
description: Connect your Flotiq content to Claude using a custom connector.

# Flotiq MCP Server in Claude

This guide shows how to connect the [Flotiq MCP Server](index.md) to Claude as a custom connector. It works in the
Claude desktop app and on claude.ai.

## Prerequisites

1. [Flotiq account](https://editor.flotiq.com){:target="_blank"}
2. Claude plan that supports custom connectors

## Setup

### 1. Open the connector list

Go to **Settings → Connectors** and click **Add**.

![](../images/mcp/claude-custom-connector.png){: .center .width75 .border}

### 2. Enter the configuration

Enter `Flotiq` as the name and `https://mcp.flotiq.com/mcp` as the URL, then click **Continue**.

![](../images/mcp/claude-add-connector.png){: .center .width50 .border}

![](../images/mcp/claude-add-connector_2.png){: .center .width50 .border}

Leave the detected **No client ID - register one automatically** option and click **Add**.

### 3. Connect

Open the connector and click **Connect**.

![](../images/mcp/claude-connect.png){: .center .width75 .border}

Flotiq takes you through the [authorization flow](index.md#authentication), where you pick the Space and the access
scope.

### 4. Adjust tool permissions

Open the connector in **Settings → Connectors → Flotiq** and set **Tool permissions** so Claude cannot change
your content without asking. A good starting point:

![](../images/mcp/claude-tool-permissions.png){: .center .width75 .border}

## Using the tools

Ask Claude about your content - it will pick the right tools on its own:

title: Flotiq MCP Server in Codex | Flotiq docs
description: Add the Flotiq MCP Server to your Codex CLI configuration.

# Flotiq MCP Server in Codex

This guide shows how to add the [Flotiq MCP Server](index.md) to the Codex CLI.

## Prerequisites

1. [Flotiq account](https://editor.flotiq.com){:target="_blank"}
2. Codex CLI installed

## Setup

Add the following to your `~/.codex/config.toml` file:

```toml
experimental_use_rmcp_client = true
[mcp_servers.flotiq]
url = "https://mcp.flotiq.com/mcp"
```
{ data-search-exclude }

!!! Note
`experimental_use_rmcp_client` is required - without it Codex uses the legacy MCP client, which does not support remote
HTTP servers with OAuth.

Restart Codex. On the first tool call it opens the Flotiq [authorization flow](index.md#authentication) in your
browser, where you pick the Space and the access scope.

## Check the configuration

Start Codex and ask it about your content, for example:

```
check how many content types i have in flotiq
```
{ data-search-exclude }

Codex should call `data_efficient_list_ctd` and answer with the number of Content Types in the Space you connected.

title: Flotiq MCP Server in GitHub Copilot CLI | Flotiq docs
description: Add the Flotiq MCP Server to GitHub Copilot CLI.

# Flotiq MCP Server in GitHub Copilot CLI

This guide shows how to add the [Flotiq MCP Server](index.md) to GitHub Copilot CLI.

## Prerequisites

1. [Flotiq account](https://editor.flotiq.com){:target="_blank"}
2. GitHub Copilot CLI installed and authenticated with your GitHub account

## Setup

### 1. Add the server

Start Copilot:

```bash
copilot
```
{ data-search-exclude }

Run the `/mcp add` command and fill in the form:

| Field | Value |
|-------------|------------------------------|
| Name | `FlotiqMCP` |
| Server Type | `HTTP` |
| URL | `https://mcp.flotiq.com/mcp` |

Press `Ctrl` + `S` to save. Copilot confirms with *MCP configuration saved successfully*.

Press `Enter` on the authorization prompt to start the Flotiq [authorization flow](index.md#authentication), where
you pick the Space and the access scope.

## Check the configuration

Ask Copilot about your content:

title: Flotiq MCP Server in VS Code Copilot | Flotiq docs
description: Use Flotiq content directly from GitHub Copilot Chat in Visual Studio Code.

# Flotiq MCP Server in VS Code Copilot

This guide shows how to add the [Flotiq MCP Server](index.md) to GitHub Copilot Chat in Visual Studio Code.

## Prerequisites

1. [Flotiq account](https://editor.flotiq.com){:target="_blank"}
2. Visual Studio Code with the GitHub Copilot Chat extension
3. Copilot Chat running in **Agent** mode - MCP tools are not available in Ask mode

## Setup

### 1. Add the server

Open the Command Palette (`Cmd/Ctrl` + `Shift` + `P`) and run **MCP: Add Server**.

1. Choose **HTTP** as the server type
2. Enter the URL: `https://mcp.flotiq.com/mcp`
3. Enter `FlotiqMCP` as the server name
4. Choose whether to store the configuration in your user settings or in the workspace

VS Code starts the Flotiq [authorization flow](index.md#authentication) automatically, where you pick the Space and
the access scope.

### 2. Or edit `mcp.json` manually

Instead of using the Command Palette you can add the server to `.vscode/mcp.json` in your workspace:

```json
{
"servers": {
"FlotiqMCP": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://mcp.flotiq.com/mcp"
}
}
}
```
{ data-search-exclude }

## Check the configuration

In the Copilot Chat sidebar click the **Tools** icon. You should see all Flotiq tools listed under `FlotiqMCP`:

![](../images/mcp/vscode-tools.png){: .center .width75 .border}

Leave only `data_efficient_list_ctd`, `get_content_type`, `list_objects` and `get_object` checked if you want Copilot
to work in read-only mode.

!!! Note
If the OAuth flow does not start, or fails with a registration error, your VS Code version may not support Dynamic
Client Registration. Update VS Code and the Copilot Chat extension, then remove and re-add the server.
