Fire Tools builds privacy-first personal finance tools that keep your data under your control.
Our desktop app (currently in beta) is available in the Fire Tools app repository.
From an idea of Matteo Bianchi, who was tired of using Google Spreadsheets for his personal finance and did not want to pay for a personal finance app that:
- Did not have all the functionalities needed, while Fire Tools could;
- Was sending data here and there, to random adv agencies (best case) or literally anyone (worst case);
- Had zero security boundaries, no encryption and nobody cared about it;
Fire Tools is a free and 100% open source way to make the most out of your personal finance.
iOS and Android apps are coming soon. At launch, they will work without a central Fire Tools server and will communicate only with the app running on your own network.
If you want to connect from outside your home network, you will need to configure and provide a secure tunnel to the localhost-running app that hosts your data.
If funds become available, Fire Tools may provide an optional server in the future, at a fair price. That server will ALWAYS be completely optional, because personal finance should stay privacy-first by default.
