Fieldlight Institute is an independent research initiative focused on intelligence infrastructure, consciousness research, and governance for AI-mediated human systems.
We study the systems that make advanced AI possible, and the human systems transformed by their deployment: compute, energy, land, water, memory, identity, consent, continuity, and institutional power.
Fieldlight is being built in public. This GitHub organization is the working surface for its research programs, protocols, field notes, publications, and institutional artifacts.

The physical, economic, and political substrate of AI systems: compute, data centers, energy, water, land, supply chains, jurisdiction, capital, and deployment.
A research program on consciousness, memory, identity, consent, continuity, subjectivity, and human-AI interaction.
The public artifacts that make the institute legible: charters, protocols, field notes, working papers, governance templates, and publications.
Fieldlight is organized as a public research skunkworks: small, focused, artifact-driven, and willing to work at the edges of existing categories.
The work here is not only to publish conclusions, but to show how questions become protocols, how notes become papers, and how governance artifacts become usable infrastructure.
