add shadows and tweak darkness values
There was no value for the shadow color before. Now it uses a darkened color8.
Darkness tweaks were also used to bring retroarch's checkerboard theme back while keeping things subtle.
Each picture shows different checkerboard behavior (checkerboard visible everywhere, the border is blended in the middle, and the background is blended in the last one). This is intentional. I tried to find a good darkness blend where this happens depending on the colorscheme's variety. It feels more natural and seems to look good with everything I've tried.
