BUSY BAR - Relay

status: in development

Relay is a BUSY Bar companion for tracking active AI sessions. It watches your Claude Code sessions and alerts you on the BUSY Bar when one is blocked waiting on you.

Agents work unattended for long stretches and then stop, waiting for an approval or an answer. That moment is easy to miss when it happens in a window you are not looking at. Relay puts it on hardware you can see from across the room.

What Relay Does

  • Tracks live status for active Claude Code sessions
  • Alerts you when a session is waiting on your approval or your input
  • Makes the return-to-human moment clear

A finished turn is status, not an alert. Relay raises an alert only when a session is genuinely waiting on you, so the Bar staying quiet means there is nothing for you to answer.

Requirements

  • macOS
  • Claude Code
  • A BUSY Bar connected over USB

Relay talks to the Bar over the USB connection only. It does not use the Bar's Wi-Fi, cloud, or Bluetooth interfaces, and it holds no credentials of any kind.

Status

Relay is in active development.

The current focus is attention alerting for Claude Code over USB. Reporting remaining usage is not part of the initial release.
