What

Moves the connector and inspector fixes into the reusable npm package for every dashboard consumer. Prepares @encapsa-dev/brain@0.1.3; no publish or merge is performed.

Why

The WebGL renderer implemented dashed edges by dropping alternate pieces of an eight-segment path, including its starting segment. Long cross-group relationships therefore appeared as disconnected floating strokes. App-level CSS or per-dashboard style overrides would leave the defect in every other consumer.

How

  • Continuous connectors are the provider default in both SVG and WebGL. edgePattern="declared" is an explicit opt-in to preset/resolver dash patterns.
  • For explicit dashed rendering, bounded length-aware tessellation preserves both endpoints and avoids the coarse gaps. Graph relationships and evidence are not changed or invented.
  • inspectorOptions centralizes label and visibility policy: hide unknown versions, completeness, metadata footer and directed-path controls by default; retain known versions, security/PHI notices, receipt evidence and context actions.
  • Directed-path finding is retained and tested behind showDirectedPaths: true, not deleted.
  • Shared BrainCopyField provides single-line truncation, full hover/focus disclosure, and honest clipboard success/denial handling. Authorized detail fields can opt in via copyable: true independently of field labels.
  • Export reusable BrainPicker, BrainConnectionPicker and BrainKindFilters, including shared spacing, icon menus, keyboard navigation and fullscreen-contained portals. Controls use lightweight store subscriptions rather than recalculating graph hierarchies.
  • Relationship count is a badge and counts unique edges, including self-edge cases.
  • Public README, CHANGELOG, package docs and tracked dist rebuilt. Existing README animation and BSD-3-Clause license preserved. No new runtime dependencies.

Testing

  • Typecheck and lint pass.
  • 137 unit/integration tests pass, including endpoint continuity, dash bounds, default/opt-in patterns, inspector defaults/overrides, unique relationship counts, clipboard outcomes, late-copy invalidation and keyboard picker behavior.
  • Packed consumer matrix passes React 18 / Fiber 8, React 19 / Fiber 9, plus SVG-only consumers without graphics peers; includes build, SSR and browser selection/rotation.
  • Next 16 demo production build passes.
  • Targeted browser regressions pass, including 5,000-node LOD and the shared fullscreen keyboard picker.
  • Dependent dashboard modules compile/typecheck/prerender with Next 15 against the actual packed candidate, without modifying its production dependency files.
  • Complete pnpm release:check PASS at c83e234: frozen install, build, typecheck, lint, 137 unit/integration tests, four packed consumer lanes, production demo build, all 23 browser tests, tarball inspection and clean generated-file verification. GitHub Library checks and Vercel preview also passed. Includes regressions for hidden-popover focus timing and portals inside host dialogs.

Release / consumer order

  1. Review this PR and wait for green checks.
  2. Merge, verify main CI, and publish 0.1.3 through the existing release workflow from a clean reviewed checkout.
  3. Then pin the dashboard dependency and regenerate its lockfile with its own pnpm version.

The application-side migration is prepared as thin component wiring and removal of duplicated control CSS. It will not be pinned to an unpublished registry version or shipped using a local tarball/Git dependency.

No production deployment, npm publication, backend/API change, or environment change is included.
