Development Workflow

The development workflow is defined on the PEcAn project wiki

In brief, please fork the project and then submit pull requests linked to specific issues by using, e.g., "fixes gh-XX" in your comments). Assign the pull request to @dlebauer who will evaluate your changes and merge and/or comment on it.

Development environment

Remote server

The easiest method for you, but I need to figure out how to set it up. To obtain access to a remote server please contact @dlebauer.

Virtual Machine

• Download the GHGVC development VM (4GB) here:
• When importing, check "reinitialize MAC address"
• ssh -l ubuntu -p 6422 localhost
• url: http://localhost:6490

Set up on your local machine

Issue gh-2 refers to a script that will not work fully, but at least contains solutions to the trickier parts.

The trickiest parts are the netcdf4 and hdf5 dependencies which must be installed from scratch (?), as well as the dependencies on R. Most of these are described for Ubuntu/CentOS/OSX here:
