New default rules (EXE001, SIM102, SIM117, BLE001, B017) flagged nested ifs, a non-executable script with a shebang, and blind exception catches. Combined nested conditionals, made the security check script executable, narrowed an overly-broad test assertion to the actual exception type raised, and annotated two intentional catch-all exception handlers with noqa.
