Summary

  • Bumps package.json and the lockfile to 0.1.0
  • Adds CHANGELOG.md with the 0.1.0 entry (toggle command and keybinding, status bar item, overview spec, CI)
  • Adds .github/workflows/release.yml. When a v* tag is pushed, it:
    1. fails if the tag doesn't match package.json's version
    2. runs npm run check (format, lint, typecheck, 95% coverage gate)
    3. packages the VSIX
    4. creates a GitHub release with the VSIX attached and notes taken from the changelog. 0.x versions are marked as pre-releases.
  • Excludes coverage/, scripts/, .github/, and the Prettier config from the VSIX. The package dropped from 23 files to 7.
  • README: adds how to install from a GitHub release

After merging

Tag the merge commit to publish the release:

git checkout main && git pull
git tag v0.1.0 && git push origin v0.1.0

Test plan

  • npm run check passes locally
  • vsce package produces whisper-code-0.1.0.vsix (7 files, 5.7 KB)
  • Changelog extraction (the awk script) outputs the 0.1.0 section
  • CI is green
  • Release workflow runs on the v0.1.0 tag
