✅ Local CI Checks Passed

All CI checks have been run locally and passed successfully:

  • make ci completed with no errors
  • Unit tests passed
  • Integration tests passed
  • Lint checks passed

The GitHub Actions workflow requires manual approval to run. Once approved, the same tests will run in CI.

Summary of Changes:

  • Updated Go from 1.26.4 to 1.26.8 (latest available GA version compatible with current dependencies)
  • Updated github.com/digitalocean/godo from 1.204.0 to 1.206.0
  • Updated github.com/prometheus/client_golang from 1.23.2 to 1.24.1
  • Updated golang.org/x/oauth2 from 0.36.0 to 0.37.0
  • Updated various golang.org/x/* packages to latest compatible versions

Note: Did not upgrade to Kubernetes 0.37.x as it requires Go 1.27.0 which is not yet available in the GitHub Actions runners.

🔐 Workflow Approval Required

The GitHub Actions workflow requires manual approval to run due to security settings. This is expected for automated PRs.

Action Required:
A repository maintainer with appropriate permissions needs to:

  1. Review this PR
  2. Approve the workflow run at: https://github.com/digitalocean/digitalocean-cloud-controller-manager/actions/runs/34962585254
  3. The workflow will then run the same CI checks that have already passed locally

What's been completed:

  • ✅ Go updated to 1.26.8 (latest GA version)
  • ✅ Dependencies updated to latest compatible versions
  • ✅ All local CI checks passed (make ci)
  • ✅ PR created and @digitalocean/doks tagged for review

The automated update process is paused waiting for manual workflow approval.
