FAQ
This document will be your source for all of the questions you probably have. These are in no particular order of importance.
PowerShell Saturdays are a great way to offer educational events with minimal (at least compared to the Global Summit) work and targeted towards a geographic area. Many people would like to organize such an event but don't know where to begin or want assistance with some of the more thornier financial and tax-related issues. We hope that our services and assistance will foster a network of 1 day events.
No. And in fact your business plan should not rely on sponsors. Certainly they are nice to have and if you end up with one or two at your first event - great. But don't base financial planning on them. And we certainly encourage you to maintain a sales and marketing-free event.
Absolutely! Historically these events have been marketed as "PowerShell" days, but you can include any content that is DevOps related.
You should begin planning for your event at least 6 months out. You will want to begin full promotion and marketing efforts 3 months out. Of course, after your first successful event we expect you'll be ready to jump in and begin planning the next one.
Well that would be fantastic, especially if you planned for that. You should plan for a minimum of 20 paid attendees for a successful event. If you know you can get 20 people from your company alone, then plan and budget for a larger event. Shoot for what you can accomplish. It is perfectly acceptable to have a seating limit and a wait list.
