Rich Presence Manager for Emulators

This software conflicts with other rich presence, such as Dolphin's built in one, or Playnite's. This means that if Dolphin or Playnite is showing its rich presence, this app doesn't show up at all. In Playnite, you cannot blacklist games from having rich presence, forcing us to choose whether our few RA-supported games have rich presence, or if all of our games have a more generic rich presence.

A solution would be to have discord pick up on this software's exe, rather than the game's/emulator's exe. For example, currently, this hooks into retroarch's exe, which is also what Playnite hooks into. If instead you made discord respond to this program's exe, not showing anything when a supported game isn't being played so it isn't always active, we would be able to show both rich presences, both playnite's default one, and CheevoPresence's.

CheevoPresence does not hook into any exe or Emulator.

The way it works is that it checks your RetroAchievement Rich Presence on the RA Website. It uses your Web API to do so.
If your Profile on RetroAchievements is showing that you are playing a Game right now, it will mirror the Rich Presence from the Website and mirrors it into the Discord Rich Presence.

To my knowledge Discord only displays one activity at a time. When you start the Emulator you want to play and it has Discord Support, it will occupie the Discord Rich Presence Slot which prevents CheevoPresence from displaying the RA Rich Presence

I could implement a "always on" Mode, but that would block the Discord Rich Presence the entire time which is something not everyone would like.

What do you mean by "showing both rich presence?" And what is exactly is a generic rich presence? Is there something Emulator does show for games what CheevoPresence doesnt do? Do you have an example? Would need to look into that

I tried to hook my Discord RPC to the PID of Dolphin - but it does not update.

But in theory I could implement a Discord Rich Presence "Manager" that can turn off or turn on native Rich Presence integrations from other Emulators. But I will need to see how I will handle trhat, because I would be changing Settings of other programms - which I will need to communicate clearly to the user.

This actually isn't true. I have had up to 3 activities before, and I usually have two. My music player, MusicBee, uses a plugin called DiscordBee, that shows what I listen to on discord, and that still allows other rich presences to work.

I did close MusicBee just to see if 2 rich presences was the max in this case, but that just left playnite still with no CheevoPresence.

Thanks for looking into this, because as it stands I think many people who'd be using this plugin would have the same issue I'm having since many people use frontends like Playnite for their retro games.

But you have to keep in mind that there is a "Playing" Activity and a "Listening" Activity.

Try to open Dolphin or any other game while having Playnite open, I dont think you will see both. Discord only shows you one "Playing" Activity. If you open World of Warcraft and then Playnite, you will still see only World of Warcraft.

But yes there were multiple people that had the "issue" with overlapping Activitys. I will make sure there is a way to deactive and active the native RichPresence functions in Emulators that support it.

Oh, I see, you're right about the modes only allowing 1 each. I never realized that. I was sure I've seen 3 activities before, but maybe I was just imagining it lol.
