1. Start from current main and inventory the hook revisions already present there.
2. Run the current pre-commit autoupdate process and verify each proposed revision against the latest available upstream release. Do not preserve an older pin merely because it appears in this branch.
3. Review hook behavior and configuration changes, especially actionlint, secret detection, dependency export, Renovate validation, Helm linting, and any hook whose runtime changed.
4. Run pre-commit run --all-files, actionlint, the repository's ordinary CI matrix, and any hook-specific smoke test needed by a major update.
5. If current main already contains every useful update, close this PR as superseded. Otherwise replace it with one signed current commit and fast-forward only after CI and review.

The present branch is behind main and contains no durable analysis beyond the automated pin diff, so rebasing it without refreshing the pins is not sufficient.
