Optimizer
The Optimizer is the most feature-rich page on UmaTools. It helps you plan skill builds, calculate projected ratings, and optimize your skill point spending.
This page combines three main functions:
- Skill Optimizer: Find the best combination of skills within your budget
- Rating Calculator: See your projected rating based on stats and skills
- Ideal Build Generator: Auto-generate skill lists based on race aptitudes
Set your total available skill points (default: 1200). The optimizer will find the best skill combination within this budget.
Enable this if your Uma has the Fast Learner ability. This applies a -10% cost discount on all skills, allowing you to fit more skills in your budget.
Choose what you're optimizing for:
- Rating: Optimize for the final race evaluation score (default)
- Trainer Aptitude Test: Optimize for aptitude test exam scoring
Set your Uma's aptitudes to help the system understand which skills are relevant:
- Turf: Grass track competency (S to G grade)
- Dirt: Dirt track competency (S to G grade)
- Sprint: Short distance races
- Mile: Mile-distance races
- Medium: Medium distance races
- Long: Long distance races
- Front: Front-runner strategy
- Pace: Stalker/pacer strategy
- Late: Late-push strategy
- End: End-game/closer strategy
Quickly generate a skill list based on your target race conditions:
- Check the boxes for aptitudes you want to target
- Click "Generate Build"
- The system adds relevant skills to your skill list
- Matching skill rows are highlighted
This is a great starting point before manually fine-tuning your build.
Enter your Uma's final stats to see projected rating:
- Speed, Stamina, Power, Guts, Wisdom: Enter values (0-1600 range)
- Star Rarity: Select ★1 to ★5 (default ★3)
- Unique Skill Level: Select Lv1 to Lv6 (default Lv3)
The calculator displays:
- Stats Score: Points from your stat distribution
- Skill Score: Points from your selected skills
- Unique Skill Bonus: Additional points from your unique skill level
- Projected Rating: Total calculated rating
- Rank Badge: Visual display of your projected rank (G, G+, F, F+, etc.)
- Progress Bar: Shows progress to the next rank and points needed
- Type a skill name in the input field
- Auto-complete suggests matching skills
- Enter the skill cost (or use the default if known)
- The skill type is auto-detected (Golden, Yellow, Blue, Green, Red, Purple, IUS)
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Golden | Rare powerful skills with high ratings |
| Yellow | Standard beneficial skills |
| Blue | Speed/acceleration focused skills |
| Green | Recovery and stamina skills |
| Red | Unique inherited skills |
| Purple | Special condition skills |

As you add skills, the optimizer continuously calculates:
- Best Score: Maximum achievable score
- Used Points: Skill points spent
- Remaining Points: Budget left over
- Aptitude Test Score: (When in Aptitude Test mode)
Your selected skills appear in a list. Click a skill to remove it from your build.
Click "Copy Build" to copy your current skill build to the clipboard. This creates a shareable string that includes all your selected skills.
Click "Load Build" to paste a previously saved build string. This restores all the skills from the copied build.
Click "Clear All" to remove all skills and start fresh.
- Start with the Ideal Skill Builder to get a baseline, then fine-tune
- Watch the "Remaining Points" to avoid going over budget

- Use "Copy Build" to save builds you want to compare later
- The rank badge gives you a quick visual indicator of your build's strength
- Set your aptitudes first - this ensures skill relevance
- Use Generate Build for a starting point
- Check remaining budget - if you have points left, add more skills
