An unofficial port of ProjectE (EMC, transmutation, dark and red matter) to Horizon, Minecraft Java 26.3 in Rust. It isn't made or supported by the ProjectE team. All the credit for the design is theirs: see CREDITS.md.
MIT licensed, as ProjectE's code and data are. The textures are original work made for this port (tools/draw_art.py), inspired by
ProjectE's look: ProjectE's art isn't included (why). No Minecraft code or assets are included.
Install both parts from the launcher's Mods page, then press Build:

Native mod projecte_core (.hnmod) |
native/projecte_core/ |
horizon-mixins bundle: one helper per hook, pe_glue.rs (the game half), pe_engine.rs (folded from engine/) |
Content mod projecte (.hmod) |
generated into content/projecte/ |
21 blocks, 86 items, recipes, loot, tags, models, lang, textures |
| Engine crate | native/projecte_core/engine/ |
EMC table, knowledge, transmutation menu, devices, items, areas; no game types; unit tested |
| ProjectE's data (MIT) | upstream/ |
recipes, EMC conversions, world transmutations, tags, English names |
It uses only Horizon's native hook points and helpers (hooks in compatibility.json; tested on Nightly
66f3981, horizon-mixins e8cd0aa).
Craft a Philosopher's Stone (redstone, glowstone, diamond), then a Transmutation Table. Right click it and click items in your inventory to burn them into EMC, then click what you've learned to make more. Later, line up collectors, relays and a condenser with a target in its first slot.
No EMC mapper runs in the game. tools/gen_emc.py runs ProjectE's default mapping once, at build time,
over vanilla 26.3's recipes (read from the builder's own game files, never committed) and ProjectE's, and
writes engine/src/emc_table.rs (1,401 items). It follows SimpleGraphMapper: the fixed values of
defaults.json and metals.json, the recipe types ProjectE maps, the cheapest choice of a multi-item
ingredient, crafting remainders subtracted, tags and items sharing a value, ores and raw ores left out.
Values hanging on components (enchantments, potions, filled containers) aren't counted, except a tool's
wear and a Klein star's charge.
- Transmutation Table and Tablet: a six-row menu of the items you know, dearest first, with
page buttons. Click an item in your own inventory to burn it (learn it, gain its EMC; right click
burns one); left click a known item for one, right/shift click for a stack; shift+right click
forgets it. Click a Klein star in your inventory to empty it into your EMC (right click fills it).
Your EMC is in the title and the action bar. Knowledge (EMC as a big integer, learned items,
bags) is saved per player in
<world>/projecte/<uuid>.txt. - Philosopher's Stone: world transmutations (ProjectE's 363), sneaking for the other way; charge (V) widens it, mode (G) cube/panel/line. Stays in the grid in crafting (ProjectE's conversions and 70 smelting recipes: stone + coal + 7 items).
- Energy Collectors MK1-3 (4/12/40 EMC/s in full sun, 10k/30k/60k): upgrade the fuel in their input up ProjectE's ladder (or to the item in their lock slot), charge a Klein star there, send EMC to relays and condensers beside them.
- Anti-Matter Relays MK1-3 (64/192/640 per tick, 100k/1M/10M, the bonus 0.05/0.15/0.5): burn items put in, empty Klein stars in the input, charge one in the second slot, pass EMC on.
- Energy Condensers MK1 and MK2: slot 1 holds the target; the MK1 eats an item a tick and makes one a tick, the MK2 burns its whole input half and fills its output half.
- Dark and Red Matter Furnaces (10 and 3 ticks an item, ores' ingots doubled half / two thirds of the time), any fuel incl. ProjectE's.
- Klein Stars Ein to Omega (50k to 51.2M): stored EMC in a component, shown in the tooltip and the item bar.
- Alchemical Coal, Mobius and Aeternalis Fuel (and blocks): furnace fuel (4x, 16x, 64x coal).
- Dark/Red Matter, blocks, covalence dusts, iron band: as ProjectE's recipes.
- Matter tools (pick, axe, shovel, sword, hoe, shears, hammer; katar, morning star): no wear, ProjectE's tiers. Pickaxe modes (3x tall/wide/long), hammer/shovel/katar/morning star dig a square growing with charge, axe takes the trunk above, hoe tills a square.
- Armour: dark matter, red matter and gem sets; gem pieces give night vision + water breathing, fire resistance, resistance, speed + jump + slow fall.
- Rings, stones, amulets: Black Hole Band and Void Ring pull items in (void ring's right click / R teleports to where you look), Zero Ring freezes water and puts out fire, Ignition Ring burns mobs nearby, Harvest Goddess Band grows crops, Arcana Ring is all four by mode, Body/Soul/Life Stones feed and heal, Repair Talisman mends what you carry, Gem of Eternal Density condenses cheap items into iron/gold/diamond/dark/red matter, Watch of Flowing Time skips time forward or back and grows crops, Evertide/Volcanite Amulets place water/lava (in the air: rain/clear). Right click (or C) turns them on and off.
- Divining Rods: average and highest EMC under you (3/16/64 deep). Destruction Catalyst clears a 3x3 tunnel by charge, Hyperkinetic Lens blows up where you look, Catalytic Lens both, Archangel's Smite hits the hostile mobs ahead.
- Dark Matter Pedestal (with a redstone signal): ignition, smite, SWRG (lightning), harvest, watch, zero, soul/body/life stones, evertide/volcanite, repair talisman (resistance), black hole.
- Interdiction Torch pushes hostile mobs out of 8 blocks. Nova Catalyst/Cataclysm: a redstone signal lights a 4 s fuse, then a radius 12/24 blast.
- Alchemical Chest (54 slots) and the 16 Alchemical Bags (54 slots each, per player).
- Tome of Knowledge: learns everything. Creative-only, as ProjectE (its recipe is off by default).
- Keys (rebindable as
key.projecte.<name>inhorizon-mods.txt): V charge, G mode, C extra function, R fire projectile. The client sends them to the server (mod messages). - Tooltips: EMC, stack EMC, stored EMC, charge, mode, on/off.
- No custom screens: the table and bags are chest menus the server fills, the devices use the vanilla furnace/chest screens (furnace flame = stored EMC, arrow = progress). No search box.
- Condenser MK1 holds 53 + the target (ProjectE 91), MK2 26/27, chest and bags 54 (ProjectE 104). Bags take plain stacks only (no components).
- Swiftwolf's Rending Gale has no creative flight: no Horizon hook grants a survival player flight, so it gives speed, jump boost and slow falling instead.
- Projectiles (fire/water/lava orbs, homing arrows, the randomizer) act at once instead of flying.
- Rings and stones cost no EMC; the Mind Stone toggles but stores no experience (no hook reads a player's experience); the Watch doesn't speed block entities; the swords' slay modes are named but hit as plain swords; DM/RM charge doesn't change mining speed; armour shows netherite's model.
- Mercurial Eye isn't ported (it says so). The philosopher's stone's C opens the transmutation menu, not a crafting grid (no hook opens a crafting menu).
- Left out: the runtime EMC mapper and its config (
/projectecommands, custom EMC files), full-star and covalence-repair recipes, advancements, sounds, particles, the Patchouli book, Curios, recipe viewer integration.
