It said i didn't have the permission to reopen my last issue so il just make a new one

@Trico-Everfire do you get the same issue, or have you moved to KDE6?

[CanadaMan150]

I am still on kde5, it is the same issue

[craftablescience]

I know, they can help me debug it if they also get the issue

[craftablescience]

I no longer use KDE5 personally

[Trico-Everfire]

I don't know what the issue is, for me, it works fine? But I am using KDE6.

[Trico-Everfire]

Also that image is legendary.

[Trico-Everfire]

But I may be able to help here. What is the file association the .vtf extension is associated with?

[Trico-Everfire]

There should be an application in your desktop called "File Associations". Open that and search for "vtf" and show me what it displays.

Okay, grab any VTF, rightclick on it and select "properties", where it says "Open With:" click "change" and then tell me what file type it is set to.

I don't think this works with KDE's plugin system

[Trico-Everfire]

I want to know what file type the VTF format is associate with. When I first installed this, I had it set to this really weird type that disallowed this to work. When I removed the offending format so it defaulted back to images/x-vtf it worked. That's waht I want to check.

I dont understand what you mean by this cuz it just shows the same menu

[Trico-Everfire]

Okay, everything seems to check out. I don't really understand what could potentially cause this problem then. For me, when I first installed this I had the problem of a incorrect file association, but that isn't the case with you. You will have to run the plugin in debug mode and check if it ever goes wrong somewhere.
