Christopher Lord

I build observability tools and AI-powered investigation systems at Grafana. Before that: compilers at IBM, and a decade running my own software company.

I live on a family ranch in northeast Alberta with my wife Elizabeth, our kids, and a good dog named Tess. A typical day might mean troubleshooting a tractor's fuel solenoid in the morning and writing Haskell, Rust, or TypeScript at night. The common thread is paying close attention to how systems actually work — a distributed trace, a grazing rotation, a local economy.
