fix(world-hop): refuse blocked hops before waiting and load the budget off the EDT - #1945
Conversation
…t off the EDT - Check combat, bank, shop and dialogue before waiting for the hop limit, so a blocked hop is refused at once instead of after the wait. - Load the shared budget file on the plugin executor instead of the Swing thread during startUp, and read it once instead of twice. - Apply the future-timestamp repair when loading, so the client- and Swing-thread check refills after the clock goes backwards. WalkthroughWorld-hop requests now check combat and open bank, shop, or dialogue widgets before waiting for the hop budget, then check again during client-thread preparation. Startup applies hop-budget configuration before scheduling persistence. File-backed budget initialization now reads stored values without applying identity updates. Tests cover bank-blocked hops and cached waits for a future timestamp. Priority: ⬇️ Low Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Do not allow hops before the stored budget loads.
If a fresh client has an exhausted budget file, startUp() can return before this task runs. During that interval, cachedMillisUntilHopAllowed() treats the empty memory store as a full budget. A logged-in caller can therefore hop despite the stored limit. Keep hop requests unavailable until persistTo() completes, without blocking the Swing thread.

Changes
hopToWorldused to wait for the hop limit first and only then check for combat or an open bank, shop or dialogue. A script could wait up to about 13 minutes after a lockout and still be refused. Those checks now run once before the wait (on the client thread) and again just before hopping, as before. The checks moved intohopBlocker(), so both places share them.MicrobotPlugin.startUpruns on the Swing thread throughPluginManager.startPlugins.persistTonow runs on the plugin's single-threaded executor, the same one that records hops, so the file is loaded before any hop is counted. Until it is loaded, other reads use the in-memory starting state; nobody can be logged in that early at launch. The FileStore constructor seeds from the previous store's cached state instead of reading the file again, so a plugin restart reads it once instead of twice.persistTonow applies the same future-timestamp repair as other reads. Before, a stored timestamp in the future stopped the cached check (used on the client and Swing threads) from refilling until a script thread read the file. Not changed: CodeRabbit suggested blocking hops until the load finishes. The load is queued during
startUp, before the plugin's event subscribers are registered, and runs within milliseconds of launch, long before a login can complete.MicrobotPluginis always on and hidden, so it isn't restarted while logged in. A "loaded" flag would add a wait state for a window no one can reach.Testing
:client:runUnitTests: 2,314 passed, 0 failed. Both new tests fail without the fix:MicrobotWorldHopTest.blockedHopIsRefusedBeforeWaitingForTheHopLimit: with the bank open, hopToWorldreturnsfalsewithout asking the budget for a wait.HopBudgetTest.persistToRepairsAFutureTimestampForTheCachedCheck: after loading a file stamped an hour ahead, the cached check refills one token in one token's time.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
