I'm Zi Cheng, a 打工仔 (roughly: corporate drone) in the Institute of Advanced Intelligence and Computing (IAIC), a research institute under the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR)
- 🔭 I’m currently working on:
- Developing software and applications for quantum algorithms in chemistry-related areas
- Other than the (usual) electronic structure problem, some previous projects involved the use of quantum algorithms to model molecular docking and adsorption.
- 💾 Apart from quantum computing, I've also designed and built a semi-autonomous Python-based workflow to calculate reaction energy barriers and transition states using computational chemistry software
I obtained a BSc. (Honours) in Chemistry with a second major in Mathematics, and a PhD. focusing on Computational Chemistry at the National University of Singapore. Before joining A*STAR, I worked on modelling various molecular photophysical processes and simulating the vibronic coupling in molecules using density functional theory and GW methods. Outside of work, I like to play badminton🏸 and jog (slowly) 🏃.
