🌍 Decoding the Earth's Pulse with AI
I'm an applied machine learning researcher and Postdoctoral Researcher in Civil and Environmental Engineering (CIVL) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), working with Prof. Hui Su. My research connects AI with Earth and climate science to better understand our changing environment.
Currently, I'm listening to the pulse of cities. By fusing multimodal data with graph neural networks, I map the evolving thermal patterns of our streets in real time.
Beyond urban heat, I'm exploring four connected directions:
- 💨 Urban Winds: Modeling low-altitude wind fields to support urban aviation and energy applications.
- ⛈️ Extreme Weather: Improving forecasts of severe convective rainfall.
- 🌊 Catastrophe Modeling: Simulating natural disasters to better understand their impacts and risks.
- 🌐 Earth Systems at Scale: Extending from urban microclimates to regional Earth system modeling.
