🏗️ Breaking changes

1. Replace NULL-literal helper methods (#3135)
   • Expression::null_literal(data_type) and Predicate::null_literal() are removed. Use null_lit(data_type) and Predicate::NULL, respectively.
2. Add geospatial callbacks to the FFI schema visitor (#3113)
   • EngineSchemaVisitor gains required visit_geometry and visit_geography callbacks, changing its C struct layout. Rebuild bindings and initialize both callbacks; geography also receives the edge-interpolation algorithm.
3. Pass structured column paths across the FFI (#3111)
   • visit_expression_column and EngineExpressionVisitor::visit_column now take (parts, parts_len) instead of one dot-joined string. Regenerate bindings and pass one non-empty KernelStringSlice per path component.
4. Reshape write-context APIs (#3089, #3151)
   • WriteContext is renamed to BoundWriteContext, and context creation moves from Transaction to WriteState. Call transaction.write_state()? once, then create partitioned or unpartitioned contexts from that state.
5. Make cancellation tokens downcastable (#3155)
   • CancellationToken now extends AsAny, requiring implementations to be 'static. Existing owned tokens need no changes; implementations borrowing non-static data must own that state instead.
6. Rename and redefine scan metadata metrics (#3169)
   • num_remove_files_seen, num_active_add_files, and active_add_files_bytes become num_remove_files_seen_from_delta_files, num_selected_add_files, and selected_add_files_bytes. num_add_files_seen now counts replay-input Adds before filtering and deduplication. The FFI struct layout also changes.
7. Return serialized sizes from JSON writes (#3063)
   • JsonHandler::write_json_file now returns DeltaResult<FileSize> instead of DeltaResult<()>. Custom engines must return the exact number of serialized bytes written.
8. Change projected commit-info maps (#3168, #3190)
   • CommitRange projections add operationMetrics, and values in both operation maps are now nullable. Transaction::with_commit_info also overrides operationMetrics, so an engine-supplied value with that name is no longer persisted.
9. Simplify Parquet masking APIs (#2879)
   • get_requested_indices and generate_mask are no longer exposed under internal-api. Call parquet_read_plan(requested_schema, file_metadata) instead; it returns the reorder indices and optional projection mask in one step.
