(They will end up in a separate trash dir, e.g. subvol-root/.Trash-uid. Without deeper changes to gvfs, we are unable to see these files under trash://, or restore them, or empty the trash. All of these have to be done as manual operations within the .Trash-uid dir. But at least the delete key does something reasonable in Nemo and Xviewer.)
